Naughty Q&A with Alyson Hale

Author Name: Alyson Hale

1.As a writer, do you like to experience the sexual acts that you write about in order to write about them convincingly? Sometimes. It depends on what it is.

2. Are there any sexual acts that you have written about that you are yet to experience? If so, what? And do you think you ever will? I’ve never personally used whips or handcuffs (let alone anything kinkier than that). I want to, but I have yet to convince the hubs.

3. What about an erotic scene in a book turns you on the most? The connection between the two characters. If I don’t believe in “them” as a couple I can’t get into anything they do. When a couple is on fire with chemistry, even a kiss can be super sexy.

4. Does your partner (if you have one) know you write erotica? If so, do they read your work? If they do, do they find it arousing? He knows I write it, but so far I haven’t let him read it. We’ll see if I ever get up the guts to hand him my manuscripts.

5. Have you ever turned yourself on writing one of your own sex scenes? Mayyyyybe.

6.Do you ever read one handed? And not because you are stirring the Bolognese ;) Nah. I use sexual scenes in books to fuel my writing and my IRL sex life. It’s more fun when it’s the real thing.

7. What’s the naughtiest, dirtiest thing you have ever written? Give us an excerpt or tell us about the scene. The dirtiest thing I’ve written so far was basically all the sex scenes in my upcoming book, Rock Her Wild. Damien and Alex do it in public in a club, right under their friends’ noses. Then they go to a hotel room and Alex cuffs Damien to the bed. They basically fuck wherever they feel like it and don’t give a damn who might be watching. It’s pretty intense and hot!

8.What’s the naughtiest, dirtiest book you have ever read? Taking What’s Wicked by Alexa Riley. It was part of the Halloween Treat book. Menage/dubious consent.

9.Do you use porn as a stimulant for writing erotic scenes? *ahem* NO. *nods head*

10. Are there any consensual sexual acts that you would never write about? If so, why not? I would never write about incest or borderline incest. Stepbrother/stepsister stuff is a stretch for me. Anything remotely incestuous grosses me out (Daddy/daughter play, etc.). Sometimes if there’s too much of an insane age difference between the characters it can turn me off too.

11.Do you find certain erotic/sexual scenes hard to write? E.g. M/M, F/F, anal sex, bondage. All sex scenes are hard to write once you pass a certain point. Like how many alternate words for genitals do we have that sound hot? As it turns out, not many. But that’s part of the challenge and what makes it fun.

Thanks so much for taking the time to answer our naughty questions, Alyson.

We hope you had fun ;)
