Naughty Q&A with Emma Jaye

Author Name: Emma Jaye

Author Website: emmajayebooks.com

1. As a writer, do you like to experience the sexual acts that you write about in order to write about them convincingly? Erm.... Not all. I haven’t had the pleasure of an alien gangbang, I’ve never been paid for sex, and.... I’m a girl. So no go on the Hybrid, Call Girls and Paint series. But I do have a vivid imagination.

2. Are there any sexual acts that you have written about that you are yet to experience? If so, what? And do you think you ever will? Unless you’ve got a few hot aliens on speed dial?

3.What about an erotic scene in a book turns you on the most? The emotions, how it feels. Mechanical tab A insert into tab B are pointless.

4. Does your partner (if you have one) know you write erotica? If so, do they read your work? If they do, do they find it arousing? Yes, he does and no, he doesn’t read it. Quite glad about that, some of it is... quite exotic.

5.Have you ever turned yourself on writing one of your own sex scenes? Of course. If it doesn’t turn the author on, how can they expect it to turn anyone else on? If your own writing doesn’t give you a tingle, you are 100%, doing it wrong.

6. Do you ever read one handed? And not because you are stirring the Bolognese ;)

Hell, yeah. What’s the naughtiest, dirtiest thing you have ever written? Give us an excerpt or tell us about the scene. Whew, I’ve got a lot of favourites. The nearest the edge one, hell even amazon put two out of three of the series in the ‘dungeon’ so it’s not visible in a normal search is the Before the Succubus. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/22914973-before-the-succubus

“You see the others in the shadows? And the ones who saved you from your old life? They watch and wait because they know their place, and your place is underneath them. Every. Single. One.

“They are full vampires, and you, little toy, are our clan latent. You will serve every one, quickly and willingly, in whatever way they want, whenever they want, and you will enjoy it.”

7. What’s the naughtiest, dirtiest book you have ever read? Slammed In The Butt By The Living Leftover Chocolate Chip Cookies From My Kitchen Cabinet. Chuck Tingle is.... a fascinatingly odd dude. It’s something you can’t unread.

8. Do you use porn as a stimulant for writing erotic scenes? I don’t know about that, but I do watch m/m porn – what’s better than one hot guy, other than two? Porn actresses, with all the posturing and pouting, make me nauseous.

9. Are there any consensual sexual acts that you would never write about? If so, why not? Hard limits? Getting into BDSM terminology now LOL! I couldn’t write some fetishes, incest, age play, scat. Luckily most of the ones I wouldn’t write are the ones amazon wouldn’t allow either.

I think, as an author, you have to at least understand a character’s motivation a little to do the subject justice.

I’ve written some non-consensual stuff too, but it’s always clear that it’s wrong, that it’s about violence, subjugation or for some other reason. In the book mentioned above, the individual being held is an incubus, without sex, he’d starve to death. A case of ‘force feeding’ if you like. Not that the vampires don’t enjoy it... So, does the incubus... eventually.

10. Do you find certain erotic/sexual scenes hard to write? E.g. M/M, F/F, anal sex, bondage. Fine with everything, except... I can’t write f/f. Just not made that way. I have tried, in one scene in the Hybrid series, but ending up with it only being from the ‘receiving’ woman’s perspective. I think you have to be able to ‘feel’ a scene to make it come alive. I can’t write ‘sexy’ if I’m thinking ewwww.

Thanks so much for taking the time to answer our naughty questions, Emma.

We hope you had fun ;)
