Naughty Q&A with Frank Noir

Author Name: Frank Noir

Author Website: http://franknoir.com

1. As a writer, do you like to experience the sexual acts that you write about in order to write about them convincingly? I don’t have sex in order to write about it afterwards. But I do draw on personal experience as far as that goes. Still, I sometimes have to write stuff so outrageous I haven’t tried it myself – in that case I’ll just try to trust my vivid imagination.

2. Are there any sexual acts that you have written about that you are yet to experience? If so, what? And do you think you ever will? For a kinky BDSM author I’ve lead a surprisingly vanilla life. I never set foot in a dungeon and never practised any of the harder forms of bondage. But hey – why not?

3. What about an erotic scene in a book turns you on the most? It’s somewhat hard to define – but feeling the heat and chemistry between the characters is the most arousing thing. Good, filthy dialogue helps. In fact, the sexual acts and positions are less important.

4. Does your partner (if you have one) know you write erotica? If so, do they read your work? If they do, do they find it arousing? My wife knows about my writing and has skimmed through some of it, but generally does not read it. I suppose she feels it’s like reading someone’s secret diary.

5. Have you ever turned yourself on writing one of your own sex scenes? Always. Like I say, that’s how I know it’s any good. I can hardly expect anyone else to get excited about it if it doesn’t work for me.

6. Do you ever read one handed? And not because you are stirring the Bolognese ;) Sometimes. And yes, occasionally my own stories. But in general, I prefer watching porn movies to get turned on.

7. What’s the naughtiest, dirtiest thing you have ever written? Give us an excerpt or tell us about the scene. ”The Beach” (http://franknoir.com/sex-story-the-beach/) started out as just a bit of rough fun in the sun, but during the writing process it got incredibly filthy (involving the use of a live fish). The poor heroine being gangbanged by a troupe of horny clowns in “Naked Circus” (http://franknoir.com/ebooks/naked-circus/) is also pretty kinky. Think rubber noses and custard pies.

8. What’s the naughtiest, dirtiest book you have ever read? I’m a great fan of the Marquis de Sade and find his “120 Days of Sodom” to be probably the filthiest thing ever written. But I also think my current work in progress will turn out to be pretty raunchy – maybe not in terms of outrageousness, but the sheer amount of sex. It’s pretty much as close to “all sex, all the time” as you can have while still maintaining a coherent plot.

9. Do you use porn as a stimulant for writing erotic scenes? Not just as a stimulant – as actual inspiration. My favourite porn films have a certain intensity that I’d like to bring to my writing.

10. Are there any consensual sexual acts that you would never write about? If so, why not? I only write about things that turn me on. And while I have fun pushing my own boundaries, I don’t think I’ll ever get into scat. Also, incest scenarios leave me cold.

11. Do you find certain erotic/sexual scenes hard to write? E.g. M/M, F/F, anal sex, bondage. Group sex and gangbangs. It’s not so a question of much keeping track of what everyone is doing at any given moment. It’s about constantly reminding the reader of every part of the action – not just the couple in one corner of the room. A sex scene between two persons – or a masturbation scene – is much easier to narrate.

Thanks so much for taking the time to answer our naughty questions, Frank.

We hope you had fun ;)
